SWAT Urban’s AREA51 - open from November 2010





Yosser’s Airsoft Odyssey got an exclusive preview of the exciting NEW S.W.A.T. Urban venue known only as AREA51.

This promises to be a great new venue for North West Airsofters. Based at the former Corus Head Office, Shotton, Nr Garden City the site is diverse and should prove challenging. AREA51 as its becoming known has varied terrain, buildings and a vast safe area.

The safe area is entirely undercover and should provide a mostly dry (a few small leaks) area for kit, and of course sign-in and chrono. Dingodog’s Airsoft and Tactical Supplies will also be on site for those all those ‘must haves’. A promising development for the future is an in-door range; we await developments on this exciting prospect.

The grounds are approximately 25 acres and have 3 main buildings with car parking and former garden areas (now over grown). The whole site reminds me of a former 1960’s Soviet Lab (watch out for the zombies!)

The main building consists of an old 1900’s grade 2 listed house (fabulous staircase!) with attached modern offices. Lots of wide corridors you could get 3 abreast down so hopefully no bottlenecks and over 200 plus offices; multiple stairways, so challenging for attackers and defenders alike with lots of dark areas and a barred strong room for those ‘jail break’ scenarios. This venue should prove challenging!
