WE MP5 Apache
MilspecSolutions.co.uk have some tasty Gas Blow Back weapons - new in the UK - we had a special preview of the WE MP5 Apache A2, machine pistol as made famous by the spectacular raid made by the SAS during the Iranain Embassy Seige at a recent S.W.A.T. Urban Airsoft event at the FORTRESS. This is of course based off the real steel HK MP5A4 model and the WE model even features a stamped and welded receiver - no cheap 'pot' metal in this replica.

This was probably the first time this WE MP5 had been seen in the UK - and what can I say all of us that managed to give the trigger a tickle were mightily impressed! The finish of the overall product is nothing short of superb even down to the easy attach flash hider - personally I prefer it with out.

Flicking the weapon through its firing modes from safe, to semi, and a great 3 round burst on a Gas Blow Back - excellent bit of work WE - this really made us smile. A nice kick from the weapon as it cycles through with a good rate of fire on full auto. I have heard some criticism that it's not as fast as a Maruzen version many years old and not seen for a long time - this one I feel updates the genre and supersedes it in many respects. I could easily justify this in my collection - just need the cash now!

The only thing people may not like is the 45 round open fronted gas magazine it comes with as standard - this gives airsofters the ability to 'see' the amount of BB's left to go in the mag - this however is minor as fully closed mags are available for it separately in 30 round and the smaller format 15 round 'shorty' mag.
