Combat Trousers
- Reviewed by Yosser
In looks they are fairly standard and by modern standards are pretty basic trousers compared with the up to date ACU and other modern cuts. What these have going for them is pure quality. Leo Kohler have a wealth of experience making kit for the German Army and they have applied their skills in making uniform items for many years.
These trousers are made from heavy gauge cotton and the stitching, well you can’t fault it. Seams are double stitched and other little touches like pockets and other items being bar tacked for extra strength, even the buttons are well stitched on. You’ll find lots of buttons on these trousers with a four buttoned fly and the main trousers closure also a button fastening. Inside the waist band are a series of buttons two each side with just 2 in the centre back for attachment of suspenders (braces) should you need them for extra support although the belt loops will take belts up to about 2 inches in width.
While not having the multitude of pockets some have, these trousers do make life much simpler with less to search when looking for items. The side slit pockets are useful and deep enough where coins and stuff won’t fall out. The main cargo pockets have an expansion to them, although it’s not overly expansive and are closed by a 2 buttoned flap. The back of the trousers contains only a single pocket closed by one button with no flap. In many respects these trousers remind me of the old British Army green combat trousers.
Interestingly the crotch is vented with 2 re-enforced holes, which should help cool you down in hot weather, making these ideal for hikers and hill walkers and well as hard working airsofters!
If you’re looking for hard wearing, durable trousers for skirmish/milsim which are useful for other tasks as well, as we all need to get multi-use our of gear in these financially hard times, you won’t go far wrong with these and they are reasonably priced too. Be aware that they should be washed inside out and that due to the cotton material may shrink but only slightly so maybe order a centimetre or 2 larger than your waist size.
Yosser says: Even if you’re not an airsofter these are great all-round trousers and being a plain design ideal maybe for a more casual look, great for hiking or activity of any kind, even for sitting around fishing or for more adventurous pursuits should you wish. More than ideal for airsofters and the quality shows.
